Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the STJ Initial Design, Inc. website, design consultations, and the services described herein. Please read them carefully.
Last updated: September 4, 2026
The information on this website and provided during an initial consultation is intended to describe the general scope of services offered by STJ Initial Design, Inc. ("STJ," "we," "us," or "our"). A detailed service agreement, proposal, or contract will be prepared for each project and will govern the specific terms, deliverables, fees, and responsibilities between STJ and the client.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website at www.stjinitial-interiors.com, submitting a Design Consultation request, using our live chat, or engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with any applicable written agreement for your project.
Services We Provide
STJ Initial Design, Inc. offers full-service interior architecture, residential and commercial design, design-build coordination, space planning, floor plans, construction documents, permit drawings, 3D visualization, material and finish selection, and related consultation services. Professional architectural, engineering, or construction work required by law is performed or coordinated through appropriately qualified and licensed professionals.
Consultations, Estimates, and Proposals
Initial consultations may be complimentary or fee-based depending on project scope and location. Any estimate, proposal, or quote provided by STJ is valid for the period stated in writing. Estimates are based on information available at the time of preparation and may be adjusted as project requirements, site conditions, materials, or local regulations change.
A formal proposal becomes binding only when signed by both the client and an authorized representative of STJ, and upon receipt of any required initial deposit.
Pricing, Deposits, and Payment
Project fees, retainers, and payment schedules are outlined in the written proposal or service agreement. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, an initial deposit is required before design work or procurement begins. Payment terms generally follow milestone-based invoicing or the schedule defined in the agreement.
Payments may be accepted via check, bank transfer, or other approved methods. Credit card payments, if accepted, may be subject to a processing fee disclosed at the time of payment. Late payments may result in work suspension and may incur service charges as described in the project agreement.
Revisions, Changes, and Project Scope
Each proposal specifies the number of design revisions or revision rounds included. Additional revisions, scope changes, or client-requested modifications beyond the agreed scope may be billed at our standard hourly rate or as a quoted change order. Material or specification substitutions after approval may affect pricing and scheduling.
Cancellations and Refunds
Clients may cancel services in accordance with the cancellation provisions in their signed project agreement. Deposits and retainers are generally non-refundable once work has commenced, but unused portions may be credited or refunded at STJ's discretion. Consultation fees are non-refundable unless STJ cancels or reschedules the appointment.
Intellectual Property
All design concepts, drawings, renderings, 3D visualizations, mood boards, specifications, and materials prepared by STJ remain the intellectual property of STJ Initial Design, Inc. until final payment is received. Upon full payment, clients receive a limited license to use the final approved designs for the specific project only. Designs may not be reproduced, sold, or used for other properties without written permission.
Site Conditions and Third-Party Work
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about the project site, existing conditions, property access, and applicable HOA or landlord requirements. STJ may coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other professionals on the client's behalf, but is not liable for the acts, omissions, warranties, or delays of third parties unless expressly assumed in a written construction management or design-build agreement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, STJ Initial Design, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to our website, consultations, or design services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the client to STJ for the specific project or service giving rise to the claim.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of website information, but we do not warrant that all content is complete, current, or error-free. Project outcomes depend on factors outside our control, including site conditions, permitting, and third-party performance.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising out of these Terms or any project engagement, the parties agree first to attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith negotiation and mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration or litigation in Broward County, Florida, in accordance with the dispute-resolution procedure set forth in the applicable project agreement.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Indemnification
Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless STJ Initial Design, Inc., its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from the client's breach of these Terms, inaccurate project information, or unauthorized use of STJ designs or materials.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
